Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions form part of the therapy agreement between you (the client) and Dr Aditi Sharma, HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist. Please read carefully, as they outline the practical and professional framework for our work together.
1. Purpose of Therapy
I understand that I am entering into a therapeutic relationship with Dr Aditi Sharma, HCPC-Registered Clinical Psychologist. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore difficulties, develop coping strategies, and work toward agreed goals.
 
2. Confidentiality
- 
What I share in sessions will remain confidential. 
- 
There are some exceptions: 
 - 
If there is a concern for risk of serious harm to you or others. 
- 
If there are safeguarding concerns about a child or vulnerable adult. 
- 
If disclosure is required by law (e.g. court order).

In such cases, Dr Aditi will discuss with you wherever possible before sharing information. 
 
3. Sessions and Fees
- 
Initial assessment session: 90 minutes – £150 
- 
Ongoing sessions: 50 minutes – £110 
- 
EMDR sessions: 90 minutes – £150 
- 
Fees are payable before each session. 
- 
Sessions are usually held weekly or fortnightly online, unless otherwise agreed. 
- 
Any change to fees will be communicated in advance. 
 
4. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
- 
At least 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or to reschedule a session. 
- 
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will be charged at the full fee. 
- 
Exceptions may be made in emergencies, at the therapist’s discretion. 
 
5. Data Protection (GDPR)
To provide safe and effective therapy, I need to collect and store some personal information. Brief therapy notes will be kept to support the therapeutic process. Notes are stored securely in line with GDPR and HCPC requirements.
Online Therapy
- 
Sessions are delivered online (e.g. Zoom). 
- 
You are responsible for ensuring you have a private, safe space and a stable internet connection. 
- 
While all reasonable steps are taken to protect confidentiality, I cannot guarantee the security of electronic communication. 
What information is collected:
- 
Personal details: name, date of birth, contact details, emergency contact 
- 
Health details: GP, medication, relevant medical history 
- 
Therapy information: assessment notes, goals, session records, correspondence 
 
How your information is used:
- 
To plan and deliver therapy 
- 
To communicate with you about appointments 
- 
To liaise with other professionals (only with your consent, unless there is risk of serious harm or a legal obligation) 
- 
For secure record keeping, as required by law and professional standards 
 
How your information is stored:
- 
Records are stored securely (password-protected and/or encrypted). 
- 
Notes are kept separately from identifying details wherever possible. 
- 
Information is retained for 7 years after therapy ends, in line with HCPC and legal requirements. 
 
Your rights under GDPR:
- 
To access the information I hold about you 
- 
To request corrections to your information 
- 
To request deletion of your information (in certain circumstances) 
- 
To withdraw consent for sharing information (unless required by law) 
 
6. Emergencies
- 
This service is not suitable for clients in acute crisis or at high risk of harm. 
- 
In an emergency, please contact your GP, NHS crisis services, 111 (non-emergency medical advice), 999 (emergency services), or Samaritans (116 123). 
7. Contact Between Sessions
- 
Contact is limited to administrative matters (e.g. arranging sessions). 
- 
I do not offer therapeutic support by email, text, or social media outside of scheduled sessions. 
8. Endings
- 
Therapy can be ended at any time by either party. 
- 
Wherever possible, I recommend discussing and planning an ending together to allow for a safe, reflective closure. 
9. Complaints
- 
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of therapy, please raise this with me directly in the first instance. 
If the issue cannot be resolved, you may contact the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which regulates Clinical Psychologists.
