Frequently asked questions
How do I book a session?
You can book by filling out the contact form or emailing directly. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be charged in full.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
A limited number of evening and weekend sessions — please enquire about current availability.
What platforms do you use for online therapy?
Sessions are conducted via a secure, encrypted video platform to ensure your privacy. You’ll receive a link ahead of each appointment.
Can I have a one-off session or consultation?
Yes. While most people benefit from ongoing sessions, one-off consultations can be useful for clarity, guidance, or decision-making around a particular issue.
Do you offer reports or letters for third parties?
I do not routinely write reports or letters for third parties (e.g. legal, occupational, benefits assessments). If you have a specific request, we can discuss whether it’s possible and whether additional fees apply.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes — everything you share in therapy is treated with strict confidentiality. This means I will not share information about you without your consent.
There are a few important exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality:
If I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm
If I am legally required to disclose information (e.g. court order, safeguarding concerns)
If there are concerns related to terrorism, money laundering, or serious crime
In all other situations, I will only share information (e.g. with your GP or other professionals) with your full knowledge and consent. These details will be discussed during your initial session, and you are welcome to ask questions at any time.
Your privacy is very important to me, and I follow all relevant professional, legal, and data protection guidelines.
Can I follow you on social media
To maintain professional boundaries and protect your confidentiality, I do not follow or engage with current or former clients on social media, and I do not accept friend or contact requests on personal accounts.
I use professional social media (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn) to share general mental health content and practice updates. These platforms are not used for therapy or clinical communication.
If you choose to follow my professional account, please be aware this may impact your privacy, and there is no expectation to engage.
Do you work with clients based anywhere in the UK?
I offer online therapy to adults across the UK. However, I do not currently work with clients who have a Somerset postcode, to avoid overlap with my NHS work in that region and to maintain professional boundaries.
If you're unsure or would like help finding alternative support, feel free to get in touch.
What if my needs fall outside the scope of your practice?
If I feel that your needs would be better supported by a different type of service or specialist — for example, due to risk, complexity, or specific clinical requirements — I will let you know as early as possible. Where appropriate, I can offer signposting to other professionals or services better suited to support you.
My priority is that you receive the care that’s most helpful and safe for your situation.
Can you support me if I’m in crisis or at high risk?
If you are in crisis or experiencing high levels of risk to yourself or others, my service may not be the most appropriate form of support. I do not offer crisis or emergency care, and I’m unable to provide ongoing support in situations that require more intensive or urgent intervention.
If you're in crisis, please contact your GP, NHS 111, local crisis team, or emergency services. You can also reach out to organisations such as Samaritans (116 123) for 24/7 support.
My priority is your safety, and I will always aim to signpost you to the right help if I’m not the right person to support you at this time. A multi-disciplinary team may be more supportive to meet your needs.
Free consultation
Finding a psychologist that fits with you is important, therefore, a free 15-20 minute initial consultation is offered. This can help to get a better understanding of how we can help and discuss what can be offered based on your needs. This is an opportunity to address any queries or concerns you might have.
A first step toward feeling more like yourself
Starting therapy can feel daunting — especially if you’re not sure what to expect, or whether it’s the right time. That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation for individuals considering therapy with me.
This is an informal space where you can:
Ask any questions about therapy or how I work
Share what’s bringing you here (if you feel comfortable)
Address any queries or concerns you might have
See how it feels to connect — with no pressure to commit
